Render unto Caesar...

My friend, Pastor George Hooper, Lakewood High class of 1981, would approve of Andrew Sullivan's response to Texas Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert, whose understanding of the teachings of Jesus could stand a little refresher.

It really bothers me that some elected US officials, who swear an oath to defend the Constitution, take to (mis)quoting the bible as a way to direct legislation. If one is going to follow great written words, how about Shakespeare:

Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
