In the wake of the fractious Senate debates on health care, during which Joe Lieberman held the vote hostage because of the public option and Medicare expansion, Democratic polling unit Public Policy Polling has issued the results of a poll that show Lieberman's job approval rating has fallen to 25%, with a whopping 67% disapproval rating. There isn't a single group -- Dem, Repub, or Indy -- in which a majority of respondents favor Lieberman.
Republicans hold a 39% approval rating of Joe, which shows that even if he were formally to join the GOP, he'd probably not get the GOP nomination.
If Joe had any brains at all -- and it's very apparent that he doesn't -- he'd follow Christopher Dodd out the door and give the residents of Connecticut a fresh start with new Senators.
