Justice Only for "the Little People"

Predictably, the McCan't campaign announced today that Gov. Palin will not cooperate with the investigation in Alaska into "Troopergate," claiming that Obama operatives have "hijacked" the investigation for political reasons.

Of course, they could be telling the truth. After all, the Alaska state senator managing the investigation is a Democrat. And the facts are so, well, ambiguous, right?

All together now...UH, YEAH RIGHT.

Plus, there's a campaign to run. No messy homefront distractions allowed. She's a rock star now!

Fine by me. Once the family SUV quietly rolls up the Wasilla driveway on that late evening on November 5, she can finally spend a little time being a real hockey mom (Lord knows she ain't getting that time on the campaign trail!). And that little old investigation can get back to business. I wouldn't even mind if the state decided to appoint an "independent" prosecutor to investigate. As a loser of a national election, Palin would no longer have that stage on which to protest her innocence. Even if the investigation resulted in no charges filed against her, she'd be stained with the scandal for years. Maybe in that time she could come up with a real back story, maybe she could learn a little about humility and integrity, and maybe she could get an actual worldview outside Alaska before stepping out onto that stage again. And believe me, someone with as much ego as she has can't stay away. She'd be back.
