"A New Kind of Politics"

Then: Boxing, the "Sweet Science," Marquis of Queensbury rules
Now: Mixed Martial Arts, cage matches, tapping out -- what rules?

Then: Foils, Sabres, and Epees
Now: Machetes, scimitars, and bludgeons

Then: John Kerry, windsurfing, bilingual, occasional flip-flopper
Now: W, brush-clearing, "nucular," "the Decider"

Then: McCan't, old, hair-trigger temper, professional flip-flopper (even with wives), Rove-style politics
Now: Obama, young & hip, cool & composed, consistent on positions, "one house/one spouse", a "new kind of politics"

9/1/2008: Obama 50%, McCan't 42%
9/9/2008: McCan't 49%, Obama 44%

I think a "New Kind of Politics" for the Democrats is a politics that produces a winner.
