Disgusting Misquote

At a campaign rally in California Saturday, Palin butchered a quote from former Secretary of State Madeline Albright in the most disgusting manner possible.

"There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women," Palin said, explaining that she had come across the quote while reading the side of her cup of Starbucks mocha (I'm not a coffee drinker, but isn't that, like, a latte?).

The problem is, the original Albright quote was, "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't help other women."

Palin then thanked the audience for cheering, and speculated how the press was going to turn it "into whatever it'll be turned into" in Sunday's papers.

The McCan't campaign is at war with Obama, announcing yesterday that they're going 100% negative in their ads, and also with the press. It won't work. We see through all that BS, although the Republican base has chosen to deny it all. My parents, who are visiting this weekend, get 100% of their news -- even in my house -- from Fox News, from Hannity (who hosted Ann Coulter on Friday night, and I could help wonder how pitiful it looked that she has nowhere else to go since the sensible world won't listen to her anymore), and from O'Reilly. I said to my dad, "You know it's over, right? You know your guy's gonna lose." "Not necessarily," was his reply.

I've never heard him respond so equivocally.
